Welcome to Mary’z Lebanese Cuisine! We are pleased to serve you.
Mary’z Mediterranean Cuisine is a family owned and operated business which first opened its doors to Houston in January 2005. Under the culinary direction of Mary and Samir Fakhoury, Mary’z has become a successful restaurant establishment in Houston.
The Fakhoury family was born and raised in north Lebanon. In 2001 they decided they needed a change and began their new chapter across the globe in Houston, Texas. After a few years of venturing into different occupations, they decided to settle on what felt like home, food. Food is what they think of when remembering their childhood, from births, to christenings, to holidays – memories of Mary striving for hours in the kitchen and not sitting down to eat until her family’s bellies were full.
With the help of their three children, Jimy, Mira, and Nano, they opened their first family restaurant on Richmond Ave. in 2005. They worked endlessly for years to offer an exceptional quality of dishes at reasonable prices. After ten years of continued success, they opened their second restaurant location on Washington Ave. in 2015, which was welcomed by the Houston community.
In 2017, one week after escaping the wrath of Hurricane Harvey, the original Mary’z location on Richmond Ave unexpectedly burned to the ground by a devastating fire. The Fakhoury’s were deeply and severely saddened to lose a place they considered their home. They vowed to rebuild and the estimated time of completion is Fall 2018.
Meanwhile, in summer 2018, a third location of Mary’z Mediterranean Cuisine was opened in The Woodlands due to high demand. Once again, the restaurant was warmly welcomed by the community.
After thirteen years of their initial location opening, a devastating fire, and three restaurants later, the second generation (Jimy, Mira, and Nano) are now running all three locations. Their mission continues to be the same however, in wanting each customer to genuinely enjoy visiting their restaurants as much as they enjoy providing the service and most importantly, the flavors they deserve.
If you have not experienced Mary’z cuisine and the Mary’z atmosphere, then you certainly are encouraged to come and visit. You may even see Mary herself in the kitchen or on the dining floor! We appreciate your years of loyalty and hope to see you soon, cheers!
